Client Activities THE DREAMERS PROJECT The Dreamers is a co-produced project that aims to improve the mental health of young (16-25-year-old) refugees and asylum seekers. The project is delivered through a partnership between Oasis, TGP Cymru and Cardiff and Vale Health Inclusion Service (CAVHIS) along with the young people who are seeking sanctuary or have received refugee status in the UK. The project is funded through the National Lottery’s Mind Our Future programme and will run until September 2029. We are now in the delivery phase of the project. The Development Phase The first 20 months of the project was our Development Phase; this means that the young people and all the partners worked with each other to discover what was needed to improve the lives of young Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Cardiff and the Vale. Following a period of scoping, consultations and testing activities and approaches with the young people, the project's aims and objectives were set. Long-term Vision & Aims: Young People in Cardiff and the Vale pursuing asylum or holding refugee status will experience a future characterised by increased resilience and mental well-being. This project will engage with young people at various stages through their journeys; from those who are seeking asylum and who have only been in the UK for a short period, to those who have received their refugee status some time ago.
