  • Leave a Legacy to Oasis
  1. Get Involved

Leave a Legacy to Oasis

Extend your support to asylum seekers and refugees beyond your lifetime.

What could a gift in your Will achieve?

Leaving a gift to Oasis in your Will will transform the lives of asylum seekers and refugees for many years to come.

Your gift will provide asylum seekers and refugees with opportunities, which will help them get back on their feet and integrate within their communities.

Your gift will relieve poverty and create a hope and a future for someone who has had to flee war, persecution and human rights violations.

‘Oasis has helped me prepare for tomorrow. I now have hope.’

Your gift will give future generations fresh hope for their future.

Our promise to you

We promise to maintain our key objectives, stewarding your gift with care and ensuring every single penny goes towards supporting asylum seekers and refugees as they integrate in Wales.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I leave a gift in my Will?

We suggest seeking professional advice, and a solicitor can help you to write your Will and ensure your wishes are maintained and that your Will is verified.

2. What information do I need about Oasis?

Your solicitor will help you with the language needed to leave a gift. All you need is to know our Charity Number: 1158 195 and our address: 69b Splott Road, CF24 2BW.

3. What if I already have a Will?

If you already have a Will, you can contact your solicitor to amend it.

4. Do I need to tell you about my legacy?

Your Will is completely private so there is no obligation to tell us if you’ve left us a gift. However, we would very much like to thank you if you have remembered us.

A Legacy of a Hopeful Future: Case study

Your support can change someone’s life for the better.

Sarah* and her son visited Oasis in early 2023. She was placed in accommodation in Cardiff but due to her anxiety and low mood, Sarah found it very difficult to leave her room. When she arrived at Oasis, she was very upset and felt lonely and overwhelmed. One of our Caseworkers sat with her in a quiet room and listened to her situation and emphasised that she was now in a safe place.

Both Sarah and her son hadn’t eaten properly since they arrived in the UK, and because we serve a daily lunch free of charge at Oasis, we were able to provide her with some food. The Oasis staff member spent many hours with her and her son, and by the end of their time together she was much calmer and appreciative of the time, support and empathy she received. She was given a pack of women’s toiletries and some food for her son.

The next day, Sarah and her son were given advice on what groups and social support we can provide at Oasis, both her and her son ate a meal and her son was shown the play area, where he started to interact with other children. We provided her with information on local schools, a solicitors appointment was set up for her, she was added to the Oasis WhatsApp social groups and she was given information on local support groups.

Now Sarah and her son attend a weekly music and storytelling group and she regularly comes into Oasis for a variety of activities and support. She looks far more relaxed and feels that since receiving the support and compassion at Oasis she can now hope for a more positive future for her and her son.
